STEPS TO WORK
Steps to Work are a national charity providing community support, and helping people back in to the workplace. With high value IT projects not delivering expected results and Cyber Security provision not meeting contract requirements, the charity was in need of technology leadership to steer the projects through to completion.
Following a review of previous technology assessments and IT projects in progress, it was clear that the charity was needing different outcomes to what was being delivered. Working with the IT Service Provider, a new plan of delivery was agreed that would deliver the outcomes the charity needed, as well as provide cost savings. These were completed on schedule, and pathed a way forward for the charity to take advantage of new technologies.
With achievement of Cyber Essentials Plus certification being a requirement for the charity to continue servicing public sector contracts, focus was paid to improving the configuration of devices, governance of policies and management of vulnerabilities. The charity successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification by the deadline and were able to continue to serve their community.

- Interim Head of IT provision to oversea key IT projects and Cyber Security provision
- Working with key service providers, completed major server upgrades and put in place improved Cyber Security protection measures
- Achieved Cyber Essentials Plus, enabling the charity to continue working on public tenders
